Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Power Projects Analyst in Chicago with 3+ years of experience in power or renewable energy projects. You will analyze projects, model scenarios, and develop business cases for utilities, developers and government agencies.

The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two remote days, and requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Master’s or MBA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical or civil/structural engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in power generation or renewable energy projects.
• Technical report writing, multi-discipline teamwork, data analysis and visualization.
• Project finance or business acumen, conceptual design and scheduling software knowledge.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, planning and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze power projects and distill technical concepts into actionable conclusions for stakeholders.
• Advise project developers on utility-scale solar, wind, storage, thermal and other projects.
• Evaluate new power and infrastructure projects to support financing.
• Model economic, technical and market scenarios for grid operators, utilities and researchers.
• Develop planning studies and business cases for utilities, producers and government agencies.
