Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a client-facing energy consulting professional in Chicago to help clients navigate the energy transition, from new generation and grid modernization to data center energy campus development.

This full-time role offers a hybrid schedule: three days in the office and two remote, with opportunities to lead analyses, advise clients, and collaborate with technical experts across the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, finance, business, public policy, or related field.
• 5+ years in energy/power industry with consulting/advisory experience.
• Direct client interaction and ability to produce analytical work products.
• Experience with electric or gas utilities, IPPs, project developers, grid operators, or energy investors.
• Strong analytical and modeling capabilities with large data sets.
• Ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support project development and strategic planning with market, technology, and policy assessments.
• Lead and contribute to project economics, risk analyses, and contracting strategies.
• Support or manage technical due diligence and owner's engineering reviews.
• Provide program and project management support, improving governance and processes.
• Develop conceptual plans with technical teams.
• Prepare and present implementation strategies to executives and teams.
• Translate technical findings into client-ready deliverables.
