Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to contribute to the development of MANET radios and related research projects. The role reports to the Director of Software Engineering on the Software Engineering team.

This position operates on a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 onsite days per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays) at Silvus Technologies’ West Los Angeles HQ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
• Demonstrated expertise in C programming.
• NOTE - Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. permanent resident or U.S. citizen) due to U.S. government contracts.
• All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test

Responsibilities

• Implement software portion of MAC (Medium Access Control) and routing protocols.
• Analyze and improve product security and robustness to meet regulatory requirements such as NIST FIPS 140-3 and Common Criteria.
• Implement network management software and web interface.
• Application and user interface development for customer demonstrations and evaluations.
• Implement testing software and product performance and reliability testing.
• Linux system customization and scripting.
• Implement different security protocols and encryption algorithms.
• Travel requirement; rare local travel, as required by Silvus.
