Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our Irvine team. You will contribute to MAC, MANET routing, security, and driver development for ARM and RISCV platforms, with a strong emphasis on Linux and embedded software quality.

The role requires a BS in a relevant field, 5+ years of embedded experience, and U.S. citizenship due to government contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer or Communications Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant engineering field.
• Expertise in C programming and experience in Linux kernel drive development.
• Knowledge of embedded system software development expectations and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Implement software for MAC and MANET routing protocols.
• Develop network management software and web interfaces.
• Implement security protocols and encryption algorithms.
• Develop audio streaming and push-to-talk applications.
• Improve product security to meet NIST FIPS 140-3 and NIAP criteria.
• Write and maintain testing software for performance and reliability.
• Develop device drivers and BSPs for ARM and RISCV, and customize Linux systems.
