Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Aguadilla, PR is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer I to design, develop, integrate and verify Military Avionics solutions within the Flight Management & Controls team. Work in a hybrid role with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote, collaborating with top engineers on defense programs that matter.

You will gain experience across the Software Development Lifecycle, engage with cross-functional teams, and contribute to Next Gen FMS using Collins Aerospace engineering processes.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and <2 years relevant experience.
• Professional English communication (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship required for access to the program/contract.
• Airborne software development/testing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of AGILE/Waterfall methodologies.
• ,
• Programming languages: C/C++, Python, Ada 95; OS: Windows, Linux, LynxOS.
• Tools/Processes: GitLab, SVN, Jira, JAMA, Confluence, DOORS.

Responsibilities

• Support Software Development Lifecycle activities (requirements, design, code, test).
• Collaborate in a cross-functional agile team to meet program milestones.
• Coordinate with system/software engineers to support Next Gen FMS.
• Travel is possible (est. <10%).
