Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Warrenville, IL, seeks an entry-level CAD designer to support a multi-disciplinary team. Hybrid schedule combines office and remote work; you will draft design drawings from input, apply 3D CAD tools, and create master sketches scaled to fit existing facilities.

You will accompany experienced designers on walkdowns, coordinate with vendors, and translate designs into precise specifications.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or high school diploma with relevant design experience.
• Advanced drafting experience with CAD tools (MicroStation).
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without CAD.
• Knowledge of MicroStation.
• Ability to multitask across projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing design drawings from input in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Apply CAD skills and learn 3D design software environments.
• Create master sketches to scale showing installations relative to facilities and specs.
• Join and assist seasoned designers on client walkdowns for data gathering.
• Explain drawings to vendors/contractors to drive design adjustments.
