Job summary

EDG is seeking a Distribution Engineering Designer to provide engineering design and estimating services for lighting and distribution projects in Lafayette, LA. The role involves running pole modeling software to evaluate wind loading on existing and proposed equipment and coordinating with clients and regulators throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree in Electrical or Engineering Technology or six months related work experience required.
• Experience with design software such as GDT, Maximo, Pole-Foreman preferred.
• Ability to understand and apply basic electrical engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed distribution designs and cost estimates tailored to client needs and timelines.
• Run modeling software on poles to assess wind loading for current and future conditions.
• Coordinate with regulatory bodies for planning and permitting on complex projects.
• Maintain adherence to client procedures and communicate status to supervisors.
