EDG Inc. seeks a Distribution Design Technician II in Metairie to provide distribution engineering design and estimating services for lighting, distribution, and joint-use projects.

You will run pole/ equipment models to assess wind loading and support joint-use attachments across sites, with regular client and field coordination. The role requires strong communication, math skills, and the ability to work in a matrix environment.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree in Electrical Technology or Engineering Technology preferred.
• 1–5 years of related experience in distribution design or similar field.
• Experience with graphics/design software such as GDT, Ike Pole-Foreman or Maximo desirable.
• Ability to understand codes, basic math and professional communication.

Aufgaben

• Develop detailed distribution designs and cost estimates for complex projects.
• Run modeling on poles to assess wind loading for current and future conditions.
• Coordinate with regulators, clients, and field staff through project lifecycles.
• Maintain documentation and communicate status to supervisors.
