Job summary

King County Metro Transit's Employee Services Division is hiring a Disability Services Specialist - Senior Human Resource Analyst to support the Disability Services team. The role covers medical leave, reasonable accommodations, and coordination for Metro Transit employees with disabilities in a hybrid work setting.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of WLAD, ADA, FMLA, and related laws, with proven coaching, collaboration, and communication skills to advise management and employees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years coordinating medical leave, accommodations or disability services
• Experience interpreting WLAD, ADA, FMLA, and related regulations
• Strong written and oral communication with leadership and HR staff
• Commitment to equity, social justice and customer service excellence
• Ability to analyze medical information and maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the reasonable accommodation and interactive process with applicants, employees, supervisors, and leadership
• Perform high-volume case management for individuals needing medical leave or disability services
• Review confidential medical information, essential job functions, and communicate with health care providers
• Coordinate and document job modification evaluations and return-to-work plans
• Advise management on leave administration under FMLA, and local laws
• Track disability services, accommodations, and leaves for regulatory compliance
• Provide education and training on reasonable accommodation and leave policies
• Maintain thorough case notes and protect confidentiality
