Job summary

King County Metro Transit seeks a Disability Services Specialist - Senior Human Resource Analyst to join the Disability Services team. The role provides consultation and coordination on medical leave, accommodations, and disability services for a large municipal workforce.

The position requires knowledge of WLAD, ADA, FMLA, and related laws, with strong coaching, collaboration, and communication skills to support managers, supervisors, and employees through complex processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least two years of experience coordinating medical leave, reasonable accommodations and/or disability services.
• Experience interpreting WLAD, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, Title VII and related laws.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to translate technical information for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the reasonable accommodation and interactive process with applicants, employees, supervisors and leadership.
• Perform case management in a high-volume environment for applicants and employees needing medical leave or accommodations.
• Review confidential medical information and communicate with health care providers to clarify medical/work restrictions.
• Coordinate job modification evaluations and actions prompted by reasonable accommodation requests.
• Provide education and training on reasonable accommodation, disability, and leave laws to managers and staff.
