Job summary

Community Roots Housing seeks a Director of Property Management in Seattle to oversee the Property Management Department and all CRH properties. You will work with the VP of Property Operations to guide financial management, staff development, and policy implementation across sites.

The role requires seven years in affordable housing management, strong HUD compliance experience, and leadership skills to coordinate cross-functional teams, drive tenant relations, and ensure regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Seven years’ experience in affordable housing property management, auditing or related area, including IRS Section 42 and HUD compliance.
• Experience with HUD contracts and Housing Assistance Payment Renewals.
• Knowledge of landlord-tenant law and fair housing.
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience managing staff.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; able to coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Proficient with property management software such as RealPage.
• Experience working with diverse populations and cultures; effective in varied communication styles.
• Ability to work with little or no supervision and manage time effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial management, monitoring monthly reports and annual budgets.
• Lead and train staff on property management tools and processes.
• Supervise Regional Manager group and support staff hiring and development.
• Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and capital planning with facilities and managers.
• Ensure tenant relations are strong and tenant records are well maintained.
• Ensure compliance with Fair Housing and landlord-tenant laws; report timely to leadership.
