Job summary

Community Roots Housing in Seattle, WA, seeks a Director of Property Management to oversee the Property Management Department across CRH properties, reporting to the VP of Property Operations. This leadership role guides budgets, compliance, tenant relations, and staff development to ensure high-quality, affordable housing.

Responsibilities include monitoring financials, preparing budgets, enforcing rent policies, coordinating with Facilities and Compliance, supervising five Portfolio Managers

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and supervisory capabilities within property management.
• Strong communication and organizational skills to manage cross-functional teams.
• Experience with HUD contracts and Housing Assistance Payment renewals.
• Knowledge of landlord-tenant law and Fair Housing practices.
• Ability to mentor staff and manage multiple properties across sites.
• Experience with RealPage or similar property management software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial management, budgets, and reporting for the property portfolio.
• Lead staff in property management systems and tools; ensure compliance with policies.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Facilities and Resident Services to implement policies.
• Hire, train, and evaluate staff; ensure training within first 6 months.
• Manage tenant relations, retention, and customer service excellence.
• Ensure operations adhere to Fair Housing and HUD requirements.
