The Nuclear Company in Columbia, SC (hybrid with DC) seeks a Director of Accounting to lead controllership across Nuclear businesses. You will own month-end close, consolidation, and policy, partnering with Finance, FP&A, Legal, and Operations.

This hands-on leader will drive SOX readiness, system integrations (NetSuite), acquisitions, and the development of the accounting function as the business scales.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and controllership experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Strong U.S. GAAP expertise across multi-entity operations.
• Experience leading month-end close and consolidation.
• Experience in acquisition/purchase accounting and integrations.
• Ability to build scalable close processes and internal controls.
• Willingness to lead and develop an accounting team while remaining hands-on.
• Excellent collaboration with Finance, FP&A, Legal, Operations, and Corporate Development.
• CPA and public accounting background and SOX experience are a plus.

Responsabilités

• Close and financial reporting ownership for Nuclear entities and projects.
• Lead accounting policy, technical accounting, and internal controls.
• Oversee deployment projects, partnerships, and joint ventures accounting.
• Diligence for acquisitions and post-acquisition integration.
• Integrate ERP and finance systems (NetSuite) and strengthen internal controls.
• Support SOX compliance and financial reporting readiness.
• Develop and lead the Nuclear accounting function while staying hands-on.
