Job summary

Target is seeking a Senior Accountant in Columbia, SC to deliver quality financial reporting and technical accounting support. You will own share-based compensation, debt and derivatives accounting, and perform month-end close with SOX controls.

The role requires a CPA and at least four years of relevant experience, with collaborative cross-team work and strong analytical skills. Hybrid/remote options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA designation.
• Minimum of 4 years public accounting or relevant financial reporting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge on share-based, debt and derivatives accounting.
• Ability to analyze technical accounting matters independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and analytical skills.
• High integrity and confidentiality.
• Experience with SAP preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel, data visualization and automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality economic reporting, accurate financial statements and technical accounting support.
• Own accounting for share-based compensation, debt and derivatives.
• Evaluate contracts and disclosures; ensure timely month-end close.
• Execute SOX internal controls and improve reporting.
• Collaborate with treasury, tax, capital planning and internal reporting teams.
• Perform special projects and ad-hoc analyses.
• Build relationships with business partners and provide guidance.
• Utilize analytics to improve processes and maintain robust internal controls.
