Job summary

Sonoco Products Company is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support monthly closes, plant-level finance processes, and summary reporting. The role involves cost accounting, asset tracking, and ensuring alignment between Navision and Oracle systems.

We require a Bachelor's in accounting/finance and 3–5 years of accounts payable/receivable experience, with excellent Excel and IT skills. This is a hybrid role based in Hartsville, SC, with possible Charlotte, NC consideration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with emphasis in accounting or finance.
• 3–5 years' experience with exposure to accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Excellent Excel skills and general IT systems knowledge (Navision/Oracle).
• Strong analytical capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Performing and monitoring fundamental accounting activities at the plant level to ensure daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.
• Completing the daily accounts payable and customer invoicing processes.
• Executing month-end closing procedures in a timely manner.
• Preparing and reviewing general ledger and subsidiary ledgers transactions for accuracy.
• Supporting processes to ensure two financial systems (Navision ERP and Oracle) are in sync.
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting audits; assist with inventory reporting.
• Supporting cost accounting, analyzing monthly standard cost variances, and updating BOM/routing as needed.
• Tracking capital expenditures and maintaining the asset register; assist in forecasts and budget reviews.
• Staying up to date with accounting concepts and maintaining professional internal/external customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.
