Job summary

Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI), a McKesson subsidiary, seeks a Director of Accounting to lead SCRI's accounting operations, close, and controls from our Nashville-based hybrid office. You will partner across Finance, Revenue Cycle, IT, and Legal to ensure accurate financial reporting and robust governance while scaling processes for growth.

The ideal candidate brings CPA credentials, 8+ years in accounting with 5+ in leadership, strong U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA license is required.
• Eight or more years of accounting experience.
• Five or more years of people leadership experience.
• Experience leading month-end close, reporting, operations, and controls.
• Healthcare or life sciences accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and reporting requirements.
• Experience with ERP systems, reporting tools, and process automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
• Oversee general ledger accounting across SCRI lines of business.
• Govern revenue recognition and contract-related transactions.
• Maintain timely balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable operations.
• Maintain internal controls and support audits.
• Lead system implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
• Drive automation and standardization across Accounting.
• Collaborate with Revenue Cycle, FP&A, IT, and Finance leaders to improve workflows.
• Recruit and develop a high-performing accounting team.
• Prepare materials for executive leadership and governance reporting.
