Job summary

The American Heart Association in Delaware is seeking a Development Director to drive revenue for the Heart Ball fundraising program, including the Heart Ball Gala. This hybrid role requires local travel, leadership of volunteers, and collaboration with internal teams to meet ambitious fundraising targets.

Base pay ranges from $65,700 to $85,000 with incentive potential up to 25% of base pay. The position emphasizes a fast-paced fundraising environment, work-life harmony resources, and career

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or related field.
• University/College degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to travel daily up to 75% and some overnight trips; reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift/move large objects; heavier items may need assistance.
• Basic knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorship and individual donations.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective sponsors and donors matched to campaign goals and the Association’s mission.
• Develop and present proposals and materials to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
• Recruit and lead executive volunteers and day-of-event volunteers.
• Coordinate the event auction by leading a committee to solicit items and prepare packages.
• Lead and engage new Cor Vitae members with other fundraising staff; plan engagement events.
• Plan and implement events in collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Support campaign communications plans with the Communications Director.
