Job summary

American Heart Association in Richmond, VA seeks a Senior Development Director to lead the Heart Ball fundraising program, manage staff, and partner with corporate and community leaders.

Hybrid role based in Glen Allen, two days per week. Base salary with incentive potential up to 25% of base pay, emphasizing major donors and strategic growth. You will coach staff, recruit volunteers, and drive revenue while advancing heart health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or a combination of college plus experience in fundraising or sales management.
• Proven ability to recruit, train, direct, and supervise multiple staff.
• Track record of cultivating major donors and securing sponsorships.

Responsibilities

• Guide and direct assigned staff to reach fundraising goals in the Richmond market.
• Engage corporate and community leaders to recruit and mobilize volunteers and chair Heart Ball.
• Lead sponsorships and relationships to meet campaign targets through face-to-face meetings.
• Oversee Heart Ball budgeting and internal operations within policies and the approved plan.
• Collaborate with partners across the market to implement market strategies.
