Job summary

Crescent Electric Supply Co is seeking a Data Engineer to own the architecture, development, and governance of Crescent's data pipelines and medallion data layers across multiple ERP systems. You will mentor SQL developers and collaborate with BI to enable self-service analytics.

The role emphasizes platform modernization, AI-assisted coding, and secure, auditable data delivery within a hybrid work model near Crescent branch locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/IS or related field.
• 5-7+ years of data engineering, ETL development, or database development.
• Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-ERP environments is a plus.
• Strong hands-on SQL and relational databases; NoSQL a plus.
• Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines using SSIS or Azure Data Factory.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure); GCP preferred.
• Solid data modeling knowledge including medallion architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines from source systems into a governed data platform.
• Develop and maintain Bronze/Silver/Gold data models and schemas.
• Lead platform modernization and Google Cloud migration efforts.
• Mentor and coach junior developers on SQL development and pipeline design.
• Partner with BI/analytics and stakeholders to translate requirements into tech designs.
• Ensure data governance, quality, and security across ERP instances.
• Maintain documentation of data flows and architecture.
