Job summary

Crescent Electric Supply Co. is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and manage robust data pipelines across multiple ERP environments. You will develop Bronze/Silver/Gold data layers, ensure a single source of truth, and guide SQL Developers on the data platform team.

The role emphasizes platform modernization for a Google Cloud migration, governance, and collaboration with BI and business stakeholders. Hybrid work near Crescent branch, strong emphasis on data quality and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5-7+ years in data engineering, ETL development, or database development.
• Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-ERP environments is a plus.
• Strong SQL and relational DB skills; NoSQL knowledge is a plus.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines with SSIS, ADF, or equivalent.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS); Google Cloud preferred.
• Solid data modeling knowledge, including medallion architecture.
• Scripting (Python) for automation and data transformation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Pipeline Architecture & Development: design, build, maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Data Modeling: develop data models and Bronze/Silver/Gold schemas.
• Platform Modernization: lead data platform build-out for cloud migration.
• AI-Enabled Engineering: explore AI coding tools to optimize pipelines.
• Data Quality & Governance: bake governance into pipelines; monitor data integrity.
• Technical Mentorship & Leadership: coach and guide SQL developers.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with DBAs, BI developers, stakeholders.
• Documentation: maintain architecture and data flow docs.
• Security & Compliance: ensure data handling and access controls across ERP instances.
