Job summary

Crescent Electric Supply Co is seeking a Data Engineer to own the architecture, development, and governance of Crescent's data pipelines, enabling reliable analytics and downstream business processes across Crescent, STWY, WMCK, LOWE. You will build and maintain Bronze/Silver/Gold data layers, ensuring a single source of truth and mentorship for SQL Developers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5-7+ years in data engineering, ETL, or database development.
• Experience supporting multi-entity environments is a plus.
• Strong SQL and relational DB skills; NoSQL is a plus.
• ETL/ELT pipelines using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or similar.
• Cloud data platforms experience; Google Cloud preferred.
• Data modeling concepts including medallion architecture.

Responsibilities

• Pipeline Architecture & Development: design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Data Modeling: develop Bronze/Silver/Gold schemas and single source of truth.
• Platform Modernization: lead data platform build-out for cloud migration.
• AI-Enabled Engineering: leverage AI tools to optimize pipeline code.
• Data Quality & Governance: embed governance and validation in pipelines.
• Technical Mentorship & Leadership: guide SQL Developers with best practices.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: translate reqs with DBAs, BI developers, and stakeholders.
• Documentation: maintain clear data flow and architecture docs.
• Security & Compliance: enforce data handling and access controls across ERP instances.
