Job summary

Crescent Electric Supply Co is seeking a Data Engineer to architect, develop, and manage data pipelines across multiple entities, enabling reliable analytics and governed data platforms. You will shape Bronze/Silver/Gold data layers and mentor SQL developers on the data platform team.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with BI developers and business stakeholders, with a hybrid work model and a near Crescent branch location requirement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5-7+ years of data engineering, ETL development, or database development.
• Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-ERP environments a plus.
• Strong hands-on SQL and relational DB expertise; NoSQL knowledge a plus.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or equivalents.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Google Cloud, Azure, AWS); Google Cloud preferred.
• Solid understanding of data modeling concepts, including medallion architecture.
• Scripting/programming (Python) for automation a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems (Eclipse/Epicor) a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide less-experienced developers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for multi-system environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Pipeline Architecture & Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Data Modeling: Develop data models and Bronze/Silver/Gold schemas.
• Platform Modernization: Lead data platform build-out for Google Cloud migration.
• AI-Enabled Engineering: Explore AI coding tools to optimize pipeline code.
• Data Quality & Governance: Engineer governance and validation into pipelines.
• Technical Mentorship & Leadership: Provide indirect leadership and code-review guidance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with DBA, BI Developers, and stakeholders.
• Documentation: Maintain clear technical documentation of data flows.
