Job summary

Crescent Electric Supply Company is seeking a Data Engineer hybrid role based near a Crescent branch. You will architect, develop, and manage data pipelines, ensuring a single source of truth across multiple ERP systems.

You will lead data modeling, drive platform modernization for Google Cloud, and mentor SQL developers while collaborating with BI and business stakeholders to enable self-service analytics and governance.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years in data engineering, ETL development, or database development.
• Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-ERP environments a plus.
• Strong hands-on SQL and relational DB skills; NoSQL a plus.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines with SSIS, ADF, or equivalents.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Google Cloud, Azure, AWS).
• Knowledge of medallion (Bronze/Silver/Gold) data architectures.
• Scripting/Python for automation and data transformation a plus.
• Experience mentoring developers and working with stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines from source systems into the governed data platform.
• Develop and maintain Bronze/Silver/Gold data models and schemas to ensure a single source of truth.
• Lead modernization for Google Cloud migration and governed data delivery processes.
• Leverage AI coding tools to optimize pipeline code and accelerate development.
• Embed governance, validation, and error-handling into pipelines; monitor data quality.
• Provide indirect leadership, coaching, and code reviews for SQL developers.
• Collaborate with DBA, BI developers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements.
• Document data flows, transformations, and architecture for continuity.
• Ensure data security and compliance across ERP instances.
