Job summary

Jacobs is hiring an Electrical Engineer in the Advanced Manufacturing group, flexible to US locations. You will design data center power distribution, UPS systems, and emergency provisions, while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver construction documents.

The role emphasizes client interaction and on-site guidance. Ideal candidates will have 6 years in electrical design, Revit/BIM experience, and NEC knowledge, plus a PE license and a degree in electrical engineering.

Qualifications

• 6 years of experience in engineering design of medium and low voltage distribution systems and campus-style power distribution.
• Extensive knowledge of industrial facility design.
• Working knowledge of Revit or BIM software.
• Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ideally: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and PE license.
• At least 3 years of data center facility design experience.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Forward thinking and willingness to learn best practices and contribute ideas.
• Ability to collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams and passion for buildings and construction.
• Experience in large greenfield site projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineering for data center facility power distribution, UPS, emergency systems, grounding, lighting, and low voltage communications.
• Interact with clients, owners and contractors to support construction on site.
• Lead quality reviews of design packages and manage scope, budget and schedule.
• Collaborate with broader multi-discipline team to establish design requirements and produce construction documents.
• Support mentorship and career development within the team.
