Job summary

Candor Consulting and Diagnostics, LLC in Belton, Texas, is seeking a Controller to build the financial rhythm of a small, fast-moving organization. You will own payroll, timekeeping reconciliation, invoicing, and a predictable month-end close, partnering with leadership to drive cash flow and reporting.

The role is hybrid (1–2 days on-site weekly) and requires 5+ years of accounting experience, a degree in accounting/finance, and hands-on payroll practice. CPA is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience including payroll and AR ownership.
• Hands-on experience with payroll and timekeeping systems.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks or an ERP, plus strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll processing for internal staff and contracted personnel.
• Reconcile timekeeping against district contracts and client invoices.
• Own accounts receivable: generate invoices, track aging, drive collections.
• Run monthly close: journal entries and leadership-ready financial statements.
• Build and maintain financial controls and procedures that scale with the company.
• Partner with Operations leadership on budgeting, cash flow visibility, and reporting.
• Coordinate with external tax preparer/CPA and handle audits.
