Job summary

Arnold & Porter is seeking a Conflicts Attorney to identify, analyze, and resolve conflicts of interest and related professional-responsibility matters across the firm’s nationwide offices. The role supports new business, lateral hiring, onboarding, and ethics reviews.

Qualifications

• J.D. required.
• Admitted to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction where the firm has an office; admission after hire acceptable.
• At least one year of conflicts-of-interest or related experience at a large law firm preferred.
• Prior law practice experience preferred.
• Strong research and ability to manage complex projects.
• Experience with conflicts databases; database-driven work preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and resolve conflicts and ethical issues under supervision.
• Review conflicts searches and first-level analyses.
• Provide guidance to attorneys conducting conflicts reviews.
• Gather due-diligence information for ethics committees and management.
• Assist with engagement letters and conflict waivers.
• Draft and circulate ethics screens and Rule 1.11 disclosures.
• Provide professional-responsibility training to attorneys and staff.
• Monitor developments in applicable law and professional standards.
• Oversee volunteers and staff performing conflicts analysis.
