Job summary

Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP seeks a Conflicts Attorney to identify and resolve conflicts of interest and related professional-responsibility matters. The role supports new business, lateral hiring, onboarding, and ongoing ethics screens across multiple U.S. offices on a hybrid schedule.

The attorney will review conflicts searches, conduct research, coordinate with firm teams, and present findings clearly. The position requires J.D., bar admission, and strong analytical/writing skills.

Qualifications

• J.D. required.
• Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction preferred; admission after hire may be required.
• At least one year of conflicts-of-interest or large law firm experience preferred.
• Experience in legal research and organizing, tracking, and reporting complex projects.
• Experience with databases and conflicts databases preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and resolve conflicts and ethical issues.
• Review conflicts search results and first-level analysis.
• Provide guidance to attorneys conducting conflicts reviews.
• Gather due-diligence information for Ethics, Lateral, Billing and Intake Committees.
• Assist with engagement letters and conflict waivers.
• Draft ethics screens and Rule 1.11 disclosures.
• Provide professional-responsibility training to attorneys and staff.
• Monitor developments in applicable law and standards.
• Oversee volunteers performing conflicts analysis.
