Job summary

Arnold & Porter is seeking a Conflicts Attorney to identify, analyze, and resolve conflicts of interest and related professional-responsibility matters across its U.S. offices.

This hybrid role may be located in Chicago, among other offices, and involves reviewing conflicts, performing research, and presenting findings to the Ethics Committee. The position focuses on new business, lateral hiring, onboarding, ethics screens, Rule 1.11 disclosures, and training, with opportunities to work on

Qualifications

• J.D. required.
• Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction preferred; must obtain admission shortly after hire if not currently admitted.
• At least one year of conflicts-of-interest or other relevant experience at a large law firm preferred.
• Experience in legal research and organizing, tracking, and reporting results of complex projects.
• Experience with databases and database-driven work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and resolve conflicts and ethical issues under supervision.
• Review conflicts search results and first-level analysis.
• Provide guidance to attorneys conducting conflicts reviews.
• Gather, organize, and communicate due-diligence information for committee review.
• Draft and circulate ethics screens and prepare Rule 1.11 disclosures.
• Provide professional-responsibility training to attorneys and staff.
• Monitor developments in applicable law and professional-responsibility standards.
• Oversee staff performing conflicts-of-interest analysis.
