Job summary

AMS Staffing Inc. is seeking a Collections Specialist in a hybrid setup (New York or Boston) to drive AR collection efforts, review invoices, and assist with billing processes.

The role involves coordinating with Billing Attorneys, preparing invoices, and handling e-billing and adjudication tasks while offering overtime as needed. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in collections within professional services, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Aderant and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Minimum three years of Collections experience, preferably in the professional services industry (legal, accounting, insurance, healthcare).
• Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for daily function of collection efforts, including inventory review and reviewing issues with attorneys to determine best strategy for collection.
• Manage accounts receivable and billing-related activities.
• Communicate AR information to office and firm management proactively and efficiently.
• Process client bills using Pre-bill Viewer and Aderant software.
• Submit electronic client invoices and accruals via various e-billing websites.
• Research and respond to accounting and billing questions; communicate with clients as needed.
• Review and edit pre-bills in response to attorney requests and legal support staff input.
• Analyze client balances and client ledgers (payments and applications).
• Apply deposits, retainers, and unapplied cash; assist with client refunds.
