Qualifications

• Requires an Associate degree in Healthcare/Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of coding experience in a healthcare setting (inpatient, outpatient, professional).
• Strong data analysis, workflow optimization, and performance improvement skills.
• Leadership experience with coaching, development, and supervising coding staff.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of the coding department to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant coding across ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Coach, develop, and manage coding staff through onboarding, performance management, and education.
• Monitor productivity, quality metrics, and lag times; implement process improvements.
• Conduct routine coding audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, payer, and organizational guidelines.
• Collaborate with providers, HIM, CDI, Revenue Cycle, and other stakeholders to improve documentation and coding accuracy.
• Analyze coding data to identify revenue opportunities and risk reduction; develop policies and standard work processes.
• Lead initiatives related to coding technology, automation, and system optimization.
