Job summary

Florida Blue seeks a Senior Cloud Architect to design and govern enterprise cloud strategy across multi-cloud and hybrid environments. You will lead architecture decisions, drive modernization, and ensure security‑by‑design while aligning with business goals.

You will collaborate with IT leadership, deliver cost optimization, and mentor cloud teams, shaping Florida Blue's cloud CoE and governance across platforms.

Qualifications

• 6+ years related work experience in IT infrastructure, software engineering, or systems architecture.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and delivering enterprise-grade cloud solutions.
• Bachelor's degree or related equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven track record of architecting and delivering large-scale cloud migration or transformation programs.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the enterprise cloud architecture roadmap aligned with business objectives and IT strategy.
• Lead the design of multi-cloud and hybrid cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Establish architecture standards, reference architectures, and guardrails for cloud adoption.
• Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical guidance to project teams and engineering leads.
• Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend adoption where strategically beneficial.
• Develop and enforce cloud governance frameworks, policies, and tagging/cost management standards.
• Ensure cloud environments comply with SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR and internal security policies.
• Partner with Information Security to integrate security-by-design principles into all cloud workloads.
• Oversee and guide enterprise cloud migration initiatives, including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, re-architecting, and retiring workloads.
• Lead modernization efforts including containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), microservices adoption, and serverless architectures.
• Collaborate with application teams to assess on-prem workloads for cloud readiness and migration plans.
• Drive cloud cost optimization strategies including right-sizing, RI usage, and lifecycle management.
• Partner with Finance to develop cloud budgets, forecasts, and chargeback/showback models.
• Establish KPIs and dashboards to monitor cloud spend, performance, and operational health.
• Mentor and coach cloud engineers; lead CoE and governance councils.
