Job summary

Johns Hopkins University’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery seeks an Assistant Administrator - Clinical to provide high-level leadership and oversee the division’s operational, human resources, and fiscal activities across JHHS and SOM.

The role collaborates with multiple institutions to develop business plans, manage staff, and ensure efficient use of space and resources while enhancing patient experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Health care administration or related field.
• Six years of progressively responsible professional-level administrative and financial experience.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Responsibilities

• Develop and participate in strategic business plans, feasibility studies, market assessment, marketing plans, data gathering, implementation plans and presentation of written reports on prospective and existing clinical and research programs.
• Formulate tactical business plans with administrative leaders in the DOM, SOM, JHHS, JHCP, Suburban Hospital, and Sibley Memorial Hospital and other affiliated institutions.
• Provide oversight of faculty recruitment including developing business plans and offer letters as well as tracking actual progress against business plans.
• Proactively develop and implement change management strategy for major organizational activities and events in alignment with Divisional, Departmental and/or institutional objectives.
