Job summary

The State of Iowa is seeking a Child Support Case Manager to join the Division of Community Access, Bureau of Child Support Services. The role focuses on complex case management, collaboration with community partners, and ensuring families receive needed support while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

Hybrid work option after probation may be approved, with duties including interaction with employers, attorneys, clerks of court, and other stakeholders to establish or modify support

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate’s degree and one year of full‑time public contact work.
• Three years of education and/or full‑time experience as described above, where thirty semester hours equals one year of experience.
• Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes eighteen months of full‑time public contact work.
• Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes one year of full‑time work with Child Support Services.
• Completion and successful passing of a level 5 FBI background check, including fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex case management for paternity, medical, and support establishment or modification of orders.
• Communicates with community partners to achieve Child Support Program goals via phone, email, and written correspondence.
• Analyzes complex case situations and legal scenarios to determine appropriate actions for families in Iowa.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs; willingness to learn ICAR and other systems.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Code of Iowa.
