Job summary

Redwood Logistics in Austin, TX, seeks an Experienced Carrier Sales and Operations professional to identify, source, and develop strong carrier relationships for profitability and customer satisfaction. This onsite role begins with intensive training and moves to a hybrid schedule.

You will negotiate freight rates, coordinate capacity, and ensure exceptional service. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in carrier sales and strong negotiation and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced logistics

Qualifications

• 3+ years of proven success in a Carrier Sales position within the logistics industry.
• Excellent communication, networking, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Results-driven and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible; ability to change focus quickly to meet market demands and company needs.

Responsibilities

• Leverage knowledge of transportation industry within carrier sales and Redwood operations.
• Build and maintain new and current strategic carrier profiles through research and networking.
• Actively engage carrier partners primarily by phone, targeting 80+ dials per day.
• Understand macro-market conditions and impact on truckload rates and capacity.
• Negotiate freight rates to motor carriers to maximize profitability.
• Coordinate available customer freight with motor carrier equipment using Redwood postings.
• Provide service and support to motor carriers to strengthen business relationships.
• Resolve issues timely to maintain Redwood’s level of customer service.
• Track and monitor shipments to address delays during transit.
• Verify freight charges and BOL receipts, resolve payables discrepancies.
• Research and develop new carrier relationships to expand capacity.
