Job summary

General Motors is seeking a CAD Developer to advance Generative AI activities around CAD development, criteria compliance, and rapid changes. The role combines Siemens NX designcenter expertise with CAD automation and NXOpen development to deliver manufacturable math designs and robust tooling.

You will work at GM's Warren Tech Center, contributing to virtual vehicle integration, modeling standards, and data integrations that boost productivity and digital engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Professional experience using Siemens NX for production design, CAD modeling, virtual integration, or related engineering work.
• Experience with Teamcenter and VisMockup or comparable CAD/PLM environments.
• Hands‑on experience with the NXOpen API and C# development.
• Experience developing CAD automation, process automation frameworks, or engineering productivity tools.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, GD&T fundamentals, and design for manufacturability, assembly, and serviceability.
• Experience working with NX and Teamcenter PLM data, external data sources, and collaborative engineering workflows.
• Ability to develop custom NX user interfaces and implement clean user-input handling and business logic.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, documentation, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to respond effectively to iterative feedback and changing program or user requirements.

Responsibilities

• NX Design and Vehicle Integration: Develop virtual vehicle integration solutions aligned with program requirements, design principles, and the Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP).
• Create, refine, validate, and release NX math modeling and criteria tools and techniques in accordance with standards.
• Apply DFx principles to component and subsystem development and deliver on‑time data releases.
• CAD Automation Development: Develop NXOpen applications, scripts, and process automation tools to improve design quality and productivity.
• Implement engineering rules, algorithms, constraints, and DFM requirements within NX tools and workflows.
• Create custom NX UIs using NXOpen UIStyler, Block UI, and Reuse Library dialogs, with clear user input and business logic.
• Develop and support NX/Teamcenter PLM integrations, including data exchanges with manufacturing or external sources.
• Collaborate with teams to prototype, validate, stabilize, and scale tools for enterprise use.
• Maintain code repositories, documentation, and developer standards; apply unit testing and code reviews.
