Job summary

Publicis Sapient is seeking a Manager Data Engineering to design, build, and optimize data platforms for scalable analytics. You will lead large-scale pipelines across cloud platforms, mentor junior engineers, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-enabled data solutions.

The role emphasizes hands-on delivery, platform observability, and modern data techniques such as lakehouse and data mesh in a hybrid Chicago setting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience implementing end-to-end data pipelines and production‑grade data platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one leading public cloud data platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Databricks as a data engineering platform, including notebooks and Delta Lake.
• Strong Python proficiency for data engineering and AI workflows.
• Experience with SQL, NoSQL databases and data modeling for warehousing.
• Experience with streaming and batch data pipelines using Spark, Glue, Dataflow, or similar.
• Knowledge of data mesh or lakehouse patterns and modern data platforms.
• Familiarity with MLOps and production support practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver large-scale data systems and platform modernization initiatives.
• Build and optimize batch and streaming data pipelines across cloud data platforms.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute hands-on to delivery.
• Design data foundations to support AI-enabled engineering use cases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into solutions.
• Ensure observability, reliability, and operational processes for data platforms.
• Provide technical feasibility assessments and project estimates.
