Job summary

Publicis Sapient in Chicago seeks a Manager Data Engineering/Data Architect to design, build, and optimize data platforms for scalable analytics and AI-enabled solutions. You will lead end‑to‑end data pipelines and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver value.

You will mentor juniors, translate client needs into scalable architectures, and drive modern lakehouse or data mesh patterns across batch and streaming workloads, while ensuring observability and post-production reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing end-to-end data pipelines and production-grade data platforms.
• Hands-on with leading cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Databricks experience including notebooks, jobs, Delta Lake or lakehouse patterns.
• Strong Python for data engineering and automation workflows.
• Experience with columnar databases and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with streaming and batch data integration tools (Glue, Dataflow, Data Factory, Spark).
• Knowledge of data modeling, warehouse design, and modern lakehouse/data mesh patterns.
• Familiarity with MLOps concepts and AI/ML deployment support.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize data platforms enabling scalable analytics.
• Lead and mentor junior team members while delivering hands-on.
• Translate client requirements into scalable data system designs.
• Develop batch and streaming pipelines across cloud data platforms.
