Job summary

Publicis Sapient in Chicago is seeking a Manager, Big Data Engineering to design, build, and optimize data platforms that support scalable analytics and AI-enabled services. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions and modernization initiatives.

The role emphasizes leadership, hands-on delivery, and collaboration across cloud data platforms, with a focus on batch and streaming pipelines and strong data foundations for machine learning.

Qualifications

• End-to-end data pipelines and production-grade platforms experience.
• Hands-on with at least one leading public cloud data platform (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with Databricks as a data engineering platform (notebook, jobs, Delta Lake).
• Strong Python proficiency for data engineering and AI workflows.
• Experience with columnar databases (BigQuery, Redshift, Vertica) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Cosmos DB).
• Experience building streaming and batch data integrations (Airflow, Glue, Dataflow, Data Factory, Spark).
• Data modeling, warehouse design, and data mesh patterns experience.
• Familiar with CI/CD, testing, release management, and production support.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize data platforms enabling scalable analytics.
• Lead large-scale data systems and platform modernization initiatives.
• Develop batch and streaming pipelines across cloud data platforms.
• Support AI-enabled engineering use cases with robust data foundations.
• Automate data platform operations and maintain observability and reliability.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute hands-on to delivery.
