Job summary

SDI Staffing is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Account Manager in a North County, San Diego location. The role focuses on building relationships with business owners, HR teams, and employees, guiding renewals, and owning a book of benefits clients in a high-touch, service-driven environment.

Hybrid work arrangement with in-office days two per week. The compensation ranges from $70,000 to $130,000 base salary, depending on experience and demonstrated skills.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of employee benefits account management in an independent insurance agency environment.
• To qualify for $100K/year+, 10+ years of employee benefits account management experience and advanced proficiency with Excel, EASE, and Employee Navigator.
• Active California Life, Accident and Health licenses are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive, personalized service by phone, email, video, and client meetings; proactive check-ins throughout the year.
• Explain benefits and plan options clearly and patiently.
• Resolve eligibility, enrollment, billing, claims, and carrier issues; advocate for clients to a confirmed resolution.
• Coordinate with carriers and agencies; escalate concerns when needed.
• Support client retention by delivering consistent service and tailoring solutions to employer needs.
• Manage benefits platforms like Ease and Employee Navigator, including plan setup and renewal updates.
• Coordinate enrollments, terminations, and life event changes; verify dates and completion.
• Audit enrollment records and carrier invoices post-implementation and renewal.
• Maintain Salesforce records, documentation, deadlines, and follow-up notes.
• Coordinate payroll deduction information with client payroll contacts.
• Help clients manage benefits compliance notices and deadlines.
