Job summary

StubHub is seeking a Software Engineer II to build end-to-end post-purchase flows and partner integrations at massive scale. The role focuses on reliable, scalable back-end services for the fulfillment pipeline, including barcode validation and mobile wallets.

You will design, implement, and operate backend systems, own features end-to-end, and collaborate with Product, Data, QA, and Operations to reduce post-purchase failures.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years building production software with a focus on backend and distributed systems.
• Proficient in Java, Python, or Golang, with experience building and consuming APIs.
• Built scalable, reliable systems for real-time ticketing, barcode validation, and post-purchase workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate backend services and integrations powering the post-purchase fulfillment pipeline (barcode validation, mobile wallets, partner APIs, inventory reconciliation).
• Build 0-to-1 fault-tolerant systems and async pipelines (queues/streaming) that scale for peak event traffic and ensure idempotent, reliable delivery.
• Own features end-to-end: from requirements and architecture to implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and runbooks.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data, and QA, as well as two Operations partners: Active Support and Marketplace Operations.
• Instrument services with robust observability: metrics, logs, distributed traces, and alerting to proactively detect and reduce fulfillment breakage.
