Job summary

We seek engineers to own end-to-end problems, collaborate across disciplines, and build robust APIs and systems that power payments and growth. The role emphasizes designing scalable infrastructure and partnering with data scientists, product managers, and engineers to deliver high-impact features.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalence in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Must have six (6) years of experience with/in across the stack and navigating codebases with multiple languages, including at least two of Java, Ruby, Scala, Python, or SQL.
• Experience with distributed computing or large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud-based services such as gRPC, GraphQL, Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS.

Responsibilities

• Own and solve problems end-to-end across diverse systems, processes, and technologies.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, data scientists, and product managers to develop new features and products.
• Uphold high engineering standards and bring consistency to codebases and processes.
• Build elegant APIs and user experiences enabling merchants to run and scale their businesses.
• Contribute to the design and architecture of Stripe’s infrastructure to meet growth needs.
• Design and implement critical systems powering financial decision-making with cross-functional teams.
