Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Automation and Controls Engineer to grow our Automation services across the Dallas area. The candidate will focus on SCADA programming, instrumented control systems, and OT networks, contributing to design, testing, and commissioning efforts.

The role involves creating P&IDs, system architectures, and design reports, with exposure to OT cybersecurity and field FATs. Travel and collaboration with clients are expected as part of project execution.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering and EIT/FE pathway within 18 months or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience in automation and controls.
• Experience with SCADA programming and OT networks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation project solutions under senior guidance.
• Program, test, and commission SCADA systems (PLC and HMI).
• Configure SCADA servers, OT networks, and wireless systems.
• Create P&IDs, control architectures, and design reports.
• Perform FATs and site inspections for control systems.
• Prepare project budgets and cost estimates.
• Assist in proposal preparation and client presentations.
• Travel to project sites as needed within the region.
