Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced engineer to work on large-scale automation projects in the United States. You will design and integrate PLCs, SCADA systems, instrumentation, and industrial networks, and lead activities from design through startup.

The role emphasizes collaboration, design documentation, and mentoring junior staff. Travel is about 10% with opportunities to advance within a global engineering firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• 7 years of related experience; travel may be required.
• Domestic/international travel as duties require.

Responsibilities

• Develop network architecture diagrams, P&IDs, instrument datasheets and control system databases.
• Prepare preliminary design reports under limited supervision.
• Lead testing, FATs and field inspections of instrumentation and controls.
• Develop basic to advanced HMI designs and PLC programs; create LOE estimates.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate design reconciliation with clients.
• Prepare proposal sections and presentations.
