Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Automation (Instrumentation & Controls) Engineer to join our Raleigh office in 2027. You will work with a dynamic team on a diverse portfolio of public, federal, and industrial projects, focusing on SCADA design, instrumentation, and control systems.

Responsibilities include creating basic instrumentation and controls designs using 3D/4D drafting, reviewing shop drawings, and assisting with testing and startup of systems under supervision. Travel 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of instrumentation, controls and related systems designs.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, creates basic instrumentation, controls and related systems designs using 3D and 4D drafting programs.
• Reviews simple component level shop drawings.
• Creates basic HMI designs, PLCs, reports, etc.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Assists with testing and startup of instrumentation, controls and related systems.
