Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer (Buildings) in Dallas, TX to join our Buildings Engineering Team. The role involves collaborating with architects and owners on high-profile, sustainable projects, focusing on electrical systems design for healthcare, education, laboratories, and commercial facilities.

You will develop drawings and specifications, perform design tasks, and contribute to cost and schedule planning while guiding junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering or related discipline.
• 1–3 years post-education experience in electrical engineering for built environment.
• Proficiency with Revit and knowledge of electrical engineering principles and codes.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software and spreadsheets.
• Ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance on innovative engineering, design and construction for complex buildings (Healthcare, Higher Education, Labs, etc.).
• Develop drawings and specifications for issuances to architects and contractors.
• Plan and execute electrical engineering tasks across design activities.
• Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, EMI, and UPS systems.
• Maintain client relationships and participate in stakeholder meetings.
• Guide junior staff to assist with project flow and research design requirements.
