Job summary

WSP in Houston, TX is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Buildings) to join the Buildings Engineering team. You will design electrical systems for healthcare, education, laboratories, and commercial facilities, collaborating with architects and owners on sustainable, energy‑efficient projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of post-education experience in electrical engineering for the built environment.
• Proficiency with Revit and SKM Power Tools.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and building, electrical, and energy codes.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, and spreadsheets.
• Ability to travel to project sites.
• Ability to learn new techniques and manage several projects simultaneously.
• Analytical mindset with sound judgement.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present to diverse audiences.
• Capable self-leadership with attention to detail and multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineering teams to provide technical assistance on sustainable, high performing building projects.
• Develop drawings and specifications for issuance to architects, contractors, and owners.
• Plan and execute electrical engineering tasks across power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and UPS design.
• Maintain client relationships and attend client and stakeholder meetings.
• Guide junior staff and support project flow.
• Ensure work conforms with specifications, permits, and regulatory requirements.
