Job summary

JLL is hiring an Assistant Controller to oversee the financial close, reporting, budgeting, and cash management for a large real estate portfolio. The role will supervise staff and partner with senior leadership and the client on financial governance.

Hybrid work options are available across multiple U.S. offices, including Seattle, New York, and other major markets. A CPA and 5–10 years of accounting experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• BS in Accounting; CPA preferred.
• 5-10 years of relevant accounting experience required with 2-3 years in a controller or supervisory role strongly preferred.
• Property management or other real estate experience preferred.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Excel and accounting systems with preference for MRI and Yardi.

Responsibilities

• Manage the period financial close activities to ensure completeness and accuracy of GAAP reporting.
• Oversee budgeting and biannual client budget cycles and reforecasting.
• Supervise cash management procedures and the AP cycle.
• Coordinate with property teams and respond to client questions.
• Maintain MSAs knowledge and oversee annual PO launches for recurring services.
• Contribute to quarterly business reviews and financial analysis.
• Develop staff and monitor performance and training needs.
• Analyze KPI data including Opex/Capex and support ad hoc projects.
