Job summary

Circular Services is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Specialist to join the accounting team in Jersey City. You will manage AR/AP cycles, invoicing, payment processing, and reconciliations, while coordinating with Operations and internal groups.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in AR/AP or related accounting function (hands-on AR/AP preferred).
• Solid understanding of AR/AP processes, basic accounting principles, and reconciliations.
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables and data analysis.
• Proven ability to research and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily AR and AP activities, ensuring accurate, timely processing.
• Prepare, review, and issue customer invoices per contracts and pricing terms.
• Process and apply customer payments (ACH, wires, checks); resolve unapplied cash.
• Monitor AR aging; follow up on overdue balances with customers.
• Process vendor invoices; secure approvals and GL allocations.
• Prepare vendor payments per schedules and controls; reconcile vendor statements.
• Investigate and resolve billing disputes with Ops and Accounting teams.
• Perform reconciliations and assist monthly close; generate AR/AP reports.
• Maintain records, documentation, and compliance with policies.
• Support process improvements and AR/AP standardization across locations.
