Job summary

CFS is seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our financial operations in Houston, TX. This role supports high-volume invoice processing, vendor inquiries, and month-end close activities in a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate has 1–3+ years in AP or general accounting, strong Excel (pivot tables), and experience with large ERP systems. A degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus, with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of Accounts Payable or general accounting experience.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
• Experience with large ERP systems and strong Excel (Pivot Tables) are strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage large Accounts Payable email inbox
• Provide excellent customer service to vendors and internal stakeholders
• Process high-volume invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approvals prior to payment
• Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain vendor files and ensure accurate recordkeepingRespond to vendor inquiries and maintain strong vendor relationships
• Assist with weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding items
• Support month-end close activities related to accounts payable
• assist with audits by providing necessary documentation
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
