Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Tempe, AZ seeks an Advanced Aerospace Systems Engineer to help develop flight-critical actuation systems, translating electronic commands into precise mechanical motion across the development lifecycle.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, software and test engineers to deliver integrated actuation solutions from concept and system design through modeling, verification and production support, on a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; STEM preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of Electro-mechanical Systems Engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform system requirements analysis and traceability for aerospace actuation systems.
• Develop and integrate electro-mechanical actuation systems for flight control applications.
• Support architecture development and system-level design trade studies.
• Develop physics-based models of actuators, motors, power transmission, sensors, and control systems.
• Analyze performance, stability, dynamics, reliability, and failure modes.
• Design and evaluate control architectures for flight-critical applications.
• Conduct modeling and simulations using MATLAB/Simulink and related tools.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and verification activities.
• Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Interface with aerospace customers on requirements and development activities.
• Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
